Fresh Particulars Emerge About the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
Recent details have emerged regarding the shocking passing of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their residence home on Sunday.
The Initial Report
As detailed in an account referencing a family associate, a massage therapist scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the home. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.
After gaining access to the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, along with the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently detained and denied bail.
Correcting the Record
The confidential informant challenged several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.
Furthermore pushed back against circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement applies to reports of reportedly "erratic" behavior by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Although the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.
Investigation Details
Per law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the condition of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
