Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor stands accused of committing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
